Opening of the first weekend of the Pig Fair in Komatevo, Plovdiv.
For the second year in a row, I – the Butcher’s Wife – gather people around the embers with the “Pig Fair 🐽”. Three weekends in a row – 13th, 20th, and 27th of December 2025 – Komatevo will once again smell of burnt straw, fresh meat, and mulled rakia. We’ll singe pigs, raise toasts, and revive a tradition that once brought whole villages together around the fire.
Last year we started this tradition, and people embraced it like a true celebration – songs, dances, and tables piled with food and wine. This year we’re going even stronger, because a holiday isn’t a one-day thing – it’s a community that gathers to share joy, flavor, and memories.
If you want to be part of the story – of the fire, the meat, and the company that warms more than the rakia – we’re waiting for you in Komatevo. Where tradition comes alive and the celebration feels real.

The day starts with the Pig Fair and ends with a Balkan DJ party – because in Komatevo we know how to celebrate!

Opening of the second weekend of the Pig Fair in Komatevo, Plovdiv.
The second weekend comes with even more aroma, buzz, and mood!
Komatevo will once again gather people who know what a real celebration is – we’ll singe pigs, raise toasts, and the air will smell of fire, smoke, and meat, just like in the old Bulgarian customs.
At lunch – complimentary mulled wine and mulled rakia to warm the soul and bring back the feeling of those times when holidays were measured not by glitter, but by taste.
On the grill – ribs, meatballs, and juicy cuts; around it – laughter, stories, and people who know that good company is the best seasoning.
In the evening, the celebration continues with a Balkan DJ party – rhythm, dancing, and good vibes till late!

Opening of the third weekend of the Pig Fair in Komatevo, Plovdiv.
The final weekend comes with the biggest celebration – smoke, music, grill, and people who aren’t afraid of the good life!
From the morning, sparks and the aroma of singed meat will fill Komatevo – we’ll singe pigs, enjoy complimentary mulled wine and mulled rakia, and tell stories that come alive with a glass and a juicy cut.
And when the sun sets… 🎤 Live Greek party with Yordanis Agapitos! Rhythm, toasts, and a party till dawn – there will be music, dancing, ouzo, and soul on the table.
